Last week I sent out the eNews, and when it was returned to me, the SPAM filter had kicked in. It looks for certain words. When the filter finds them, it may, or maybe delete your e-news or message before your readers get it. Here are a few of the words and phrases the filters are looking for:

OFFER (0.1 points) BODY: Free Offer
SUB_FREE_OFFER (0.4 points) Subject starts with "Free"
OPT_IN (1.3 points) BODY: Talks about opting in (lowercase version)
NO_COST (1.0 points) BODY: No such thing as a free lunch (3)
REMOVAL_INSTRUCTIONS (0.6 points) BODY: Gives instructions for removal from list
MONEY_MAKING (1.6 points) BODY: Discusses money making
HTTP_WITH_EMAIL_IN_URL (0.5 points) URI: 'remove' URL contains an email address
MAILTO_TO_SPAM_ADDR (0.6 points) URI: Includes a link to a likely spammer email address
PRIORITY_NO_NAME (0.5 points) Message has priority setting, but no X-Mailer
HAIR_LOSS (2.8 points) BODY: Cures Baldness
EARN_MONEY (0.9 points) BODY: Message talks about earning money
FORGOTTEN_PASSWORD (-0.2 points) BODY: Contains a password retrieval system
OPT_IN (1.3 points) BODY: Talks about opting in (lowercase version)
NO_STRINGS (2.1 points) BODY: No Strings Attached
EXCUSE_3 (0.1 points) BODY: Claims you can be removed from the list
MSG_ID_ADDED_BY_MTA_3 (0.5 points) 'Message-Id' was added by a relay (3)
